June to September, usually
The famous Meghalaya rain. It usually arrives in earnest by June and eases through September — though recent years have taught us not to promise the calendar. When it's on, the Sohra waterfalls are at full thunder and everything turns impossibly green; the trick is to plan around the showers, not against them.
