About the house
How the house came to be.
Tiggi's iing began as a family home in Nongrim Hills — the kind of Shillong house that was always full of relatives, neighbours, and one more plate at the table. Opening it to guests changed less than you might think: the kitchen still cooks the way it always has, and the garden still gets the same fussing.
There are six guest rooms, numbered one to six, each a little different from the next. The house is run by Renu, who looks after the kitchen and the welcome, with Firoz — who many of our guests know by name from their reviews — looking after the days.
It is a home first and a guest house second. We hope you'll feel that within the first hour.
The name
Tiggi · Short for Tigrania — the family name of the house.
iing · Khasi for 'house'. A house in the local way: shoes off, kettle on.

About 3 hours from Guwahati, 3.5 hours from Kaziranga. The road climbs steadily, the views earn the drive.
